Diversity, Equity,
and Inclusion

Studies have shown that diversity is important for companies to remain competitive in today’s global economy as it directly impacts a company’s bottom-line: Diverse companies perform better financially, attract a larger pool of professionals, and have higher employee retention rates.  Biocom Institute takes this concept further to analyze not only diversity, but the state of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) across life science companies in California. In 2020, Biocom Institute conducted a study to analyze the industry’s current DEI landscape and 335 California life science companies participated in the study. The survey findings provide a basic framework for Biocom Institute and the California life science industry to develop an actionable DEI implementation plan.
